Get to know Cheryl Thornton, Account Supervisor, this month as she celebrates 15 years with Marden-Kane! First thing to know: she is ALWAYS working to make her clients (and coworkers) happy! She has the reputation for coming in early, staying late and doing what is needed to get the job done.
What is Your Role at Marden-Kane?
I have been with MK for 15 years and started as a Promotion Coordinator. Currently I am an Account Supervisor. My role encompasses proposal preparation/presentation, assisting in program and budget development, contract preparations, overseeing vendors, writing official rules or terms and conditions, including legal review with legal counsel, meeting with clients and maintaining good client relationships, managing budgets, tracking costs, reviewing and approving invoices and overseeing promotion administrator an/or assistant account executives, in addition to many other responsibilities!
What were Your Favorite Memory at Marden-Kane?
Celebrating MK’s 40th Anniversary on the Cloud Nine yacht. It was a very special occasion and everyone had a great time sailing around the Long Island Sound.
Tell Us Some Things Most People Don’t Know About You.
I am a Lay Eucharist Minister in the Episcopal Church.
My fifteen years here were not continuous. I started at Marden-Kane in 1994, but left for a few years after I had my twins. Len Bierman asked me to come back in 2004 and I did!
What Are Your 3 Favorite Things?
1) Travelling — especially cruises
2) Baseball
3) Annual Pumpkin Picking Outing with the Family
What is Your Proudest Moment?
Becoming a Mom to Katie and the twins, Lindsay and Heather.
What was the Last Book You Read?
Crossing Over by John Edward.
