This month we feature Account Director Mary Ellen Prevete who joined Marden-Kane this month. She was most recently a Senior Account Manager at DL Blair. Her impressive credentials include developing, implementing and executing marketing and consumer promotional concepts across multiple platforms for major clients such as Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble, Discover and HBO. We are extremely happy that she has joined the MK team!
My role as an Account Director is to ensure that my clients are provided with best-in-class service. Over the past 17 years, I’ve learned that the foundation of good client service is based on relationships which are built on mutual respect and trust. That starts with being a mentor to my team and then empowering them to do exceptional work.
Managing our clients’ accounts gives me the opportunity to develop an internal team philosophy that recognizes that the work we collectively do is not just a matter of creating project plans, writing rules and executing test cases, but ultimately serves to build a strong rapport with our clients and their consumers.
One of the more interesting aspects of my role is problem solving and providing our clients with solutions to help them achieve their marketing goals. Every client’s needs and objectives are different. On any given day I could collaborate with a client to brainstorm or vet a promotional concept, work with our digital team to create a website, consult with legal on a promotional strategy, or assist the client with an onsite consumer event or trade show.
My focus is on understanding my clients’ needs so I can use my practical experience and project management skills to ensure that anything we do on their behalf meets their objectives.
Favorite Thing About MK So Far:
Definitely the people. You get to work on all sorts of different projects, and when you mix that with people you like working with, it makes for a happy work life.
Something Most People Don’t Know About You:
I am a big college football fan. I find the tradition and sense of pride from the players, students and alumni highly contagious. As an FIT graduate, I never had the “college football experience” and became addicted when my kids were college bound.
What Are Your 3 Favorite Things (Foods, books, movies, etc):
- Summer Weekends at the Beach – we all need a little down time – need I say more?
- My favorite food, hands down is Pasta – I can eat a bowl of pasta every day and never get tired of it.
- I’m pretty passionate about cooking. A homemade meal almost always guarantees a house full of company!
Your Proudest Moment:
That’s easy – it’s being a mom.
Last Book You Read:
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.
